Terms of Service.

Please read these terms carefully before using MBAMBA Save. By using the App, you agree to be bound by everything below.

01. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use MBAMBA Save. If you are under 18, you are strictly prohibited from using the App.

By using the App, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

02. Account Registration and Security

To use the App, you must register with a valid phone number and provide accurate, complete information.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials (PIN, password).
  • You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You agree to notify us immediately at support@mbambasave.com of any unauthorized use or security breach.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if any information provided is false or misleading.

03. Use of the App

A Personal Savings Pots
  • Create personal savings pots for individual goals.
  • Set the target amount, contribution frequency, and unlock date.
  • Funds cannot be withdrawn before the unlock date except via the emergency unlock procedure.
B Group Savings (Njangi/Tontine)
  • Create or join group savings pots with custom rules.
  • The group admin sets contribution amount, frequency, rotation order, and payout schedule.
  • The App automatically handles contributions, rotations, and payouts.
  • All members have real-time visibility of payments.
  • You agree to abide by group rules and respect emergency unlock votes.
C Emergency Unlock Vote
  • In a genuine emergency, a member may request early withdrawal.
  • All group members are notified to vote via the App.
  • If a majority approves, funds are released subject to a penalty fee (see Section 4c).
  • Emergency unlock is a privilege, not a right; groups set their own voting thresholds.
D MBAMBA Trust Score
  • Your payment reliability and savings history generate your MBAMBA Trust Score.
  • The score is visible to you and may influence your ability to create or join groups.
  • You agree that we may use your transaction history to compute and update your score.

04. Fees and Payments

Transaction Fees

1% on deposits and withdrawals (subject to change). Fees are deducted automatically.

MBOA Pro Subscription

500 FCFA/month for unlimited pots and advanced analytics. Auto-renews unless canceled.

Emergency Unlock Penalty

5% of unlocked amount, distributed to remaining group members as compensation.

All payments are processed through Campay, integrated with MTN Money and Orange Money. We do not store your mobile money PIN or password.

05. Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:

Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of Cameroonian laws
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account
Provide false information or impersonate any person
Interfere with the proper functioning of the App
Use the App to defraud users or engage in money laundering
Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination and legal action under Cameroonian law.

06. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components.

07. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MBAMBA SARL, its directors, employees, or partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the App — including but not limited to loss of savings, data, or profits.

Liability cap: Our total liability shall not exceed amounts paid by you in the past 6 months.

08. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MBAMBA SARL, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, including legal fees, arising out of:

  • Your use of the App
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another person or entity

09. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Grounds for termination include:

Violation of these Terms Fraudulent or illegal activity Request by law enforcement Extended inactivity

Upon termination, any funds in your account will be returned to you via mobile money after deducting applicable fees and pending obligations to group members.

10. Dispute Resolution

Governing Law These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cameroon.
Informal Resolution Before filing any claim, contact us at support@mbambasave.com. We will attempt to resolve the issue within 30 days.
Arbitration Unresolved disputes shall be settled by arbitration in Douala, Cameroon, in accordance with OHADA Common Court of Justice and Arbitration rules. Conducted in French or English at the parties' option.
Class Action Waiver You agree to resolve disputes individually, and not as part of any class or representative action.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version in the App and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

For material changes, we may notify you via email or a prominent notice in the App. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

Conditions Générales d'Utilisation

Dernière mise à jour : Mars 2026. Bienvenue sur MBAMBA Save ! En téléchargeant, vous inscrivant ou utilisant l'application, vous acceptez d'être lié par ces conditions.

1. Éligibilité Vous devez avoir au moins 18 ans. Si vous avez moins de 18 ans, l'utilisation de l'application est strictement interdite.
2. Inscription et sécurité Fournissez des informations exactes. Vous êtes responsable de la confidentialité de votre code PIN et de toutes les activités sous votre compte. Signalez immédiatement toute utilisation non autorisée à support@mbambasave.com.
3. Utilisation Cagnottes personnelles, tontines de groupe, déverrouillage d'urgence par vote, et MBOA Trust Score basé sur votre historique de paiement.
4. Frais Frais de transaction (1%), abonnement MBAMBA Pro (500 FCFA/mois), pénalité de déverrouillage d'urgence (5%). Paiements via Campay (MTN Money / Orange Money). Nous ne stockons pas vos codes PIN.
5. Activités interdites Toute utilisation illégale, fraude, harcèlement ou usurpation d'identité peut entraîner la résiliation immédiate du compte.
6–8. Responsabilité L'application est fournie "en l'état". Notre responsabilité est limitée au maximum autorisé par la loi. Vous acceptez de nous indemniser contre toute réclamation découlant de votre utilisation.
9. Résiliation Nous pouvons suspendre votre compte pour diverses raisons. Les fonds vous seront retournés après déduction des frais et obligations.
10. Litiges La loi camerounaise s'applique. Résolution amiable d'abord, puis arbitrage à Douala selon les règles OHADA.
